AMD Leadership Development Human Performance Analysis

Goal:

Identify the primary outcomes for each leadership position, the enabling outcomes that should be present before the individual takes the role, the barriers that impede success, and the factors that facilitate success in the role at AMD, then use this data to make recommendations to enhance the competency model and development of each role.

Challenges:

  • By the nature of their role, mid-level executives have extensive demands on their time
  • Required the selection of key performers in each role to ensure the resulting data could be used to drive effective decisions

  • Individuals to be interviewed for these projects were located at sites around the globe

  

Solution:

  • Cognitive Technologies, working with Beacon Performance Group:
  • Developed appropriate interview protocols for each leadership community
  • Oversaw the selection and scheduling of individuals representing each of the targeted leadership roles
  • Used the Performance DNA methodology to conduct personal, targeted interviews (either in person or by phone) and compile the results
  • Analyzed the findings from the interviews to prepare a Findings and Recommendations Report that identified outcomes for the role, primary work processes, barriers to success or derailing factors, and facilitators of success
  • Supported the delivery of the Findings and Recommendations Report for each leadership community to the client
