Cognitive Technologies Certified as Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)
Austin, TX, AUGUST 05, 2009. Cognitive Technologies - a consulting firm specializing in project management, collaborative processes, and organizational effectiveness for the federal government and Fortune 1000 companies - today announced it has been certified as a Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) by the City of Austin. Because Austin adheres to the U.S. Department of Transportation DBE Standards, the DBE certification is also accepted at the Federal level.
"With WBE and DBE certifications, Cognitive Technologies can now provide professional consulting services to agencies and prime contractors that either strive to or are required to work with women-owned or disadvantaged businesses," said Dr. Karen L. McGraw, CEO and founder of Cognitive Technologies. "This is significant for our clients, vendors and partners because it strengthens our ability to meet unique requirements and to participate in special procurements. It also honors our status as an entirely woman-owned business, which is a distinction that we uphold with pride."
Dr. McGraw founded Cognitive Technologies in 1987 and recently returned to the helm as CEO. She leads the company's efforts to improve the success of technology projects by focusing on the intersection of people and technology. Cognitive Technologies currently holds several contracts and agreements with government agencies including the State of Maryland and the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).
