Cognitive Technologies Launches Portfolio Management Optimization Project
Austin, TX, September 23, 2010. Cognitive Technologies -- a consulting firm specializing in project management, collaborative processes, and organizational effectiveness for federal and state government and Fortune 1000 companies – has launched an IT Project Web Access Enterprise Portfolio Management (IT PWA EPM) project for Austin's leading energy organization.
The IT PWA EPM project is designed to help the organization optimize its Microsoft® tools and portfolio management processes. The project is a four-month effort with an implementation date in January 2011. Key outcomes of the project will be:
- Improved project prioritization via an integrated and accessible project ranking mechanism to improve Austin Energy’s ability to determine projects that will provide the most pay off.
- Improved communication to customers on project status through updated project team sites.
- Streamlined processes and automated forms to aid project teams in completing routine documentation more efficiently.
“Project prioritization and other portfolio management improvements are a cost-effective way to create efficiencies and improve IT budget use for government agencies and utility companies alike,” explains Dr. Karen L. McGraw, founder and CEO of Cognitive Technologies. “Organizations often see a gap between having state-of-the-art IT tools and processes and not implementing them correctly. Bridging that gap can make a huge difference in how an organization performs.”
